A note on caffeine

Real coffee extract contains caffeine. Enjoy Kopiko for its taste; the amount in a candy should not be treated as equal to a cup of coffee.

Reading the label.

Start with the exact flavor and pack size. Coffee and Cappuccino share some ingredients but are not identical recipes. A product photo, a nutrition panel and a selected pack should all describe the same candy.

Check the serving size before comparing nutrition. A number for two candies cannot be compared directly with a number for four. Use the current label on your package for calories, sugars and your personal dietary needs.

What does real coffee extract mean?

Coffee is an ingredient in the candy, rather than just a flavor name. The extract contributes coffee character and caffeine. The candy is still a sweet treat; it is not a serving of brewed coffee.

Is there a sugar-free choice?

Kopiko has a separate Sugar Free Coffee product. The regular Coffee and Cappuccino packs in this selection contain sugar. Do not choose a regular pack when you need a sugar-free product.

Allergens deserve a closer look.

The regular ingredient lists include milk and soy. Cappuccino includes milk powder as well as butter; Coffee also includes butter. A coffee-colored wrapper or a darker taste is not a dairy-free claim.

Ingredients can vary across markets and packaging revisions. If a label is unclear or does not match what you expected, check with the manufacturer before eating the candy.

Storage and sharing

Store in a cool, dry place. Keep the packaging when you fill a candy bowl so others can read the ingredients. Hard candy can be a choking hazard for young children.
